PLEASE MAKE ME LOOK PRETTY
The real-life documentary film "PLEASE MAKE ME LOOK PRETTY" centers on the caricature artist Jung Eunhye, who draws people based on their personalities rather than their physical characteristics. As a person with Down Syndrome, she sees things differently than most others. Over the course of seven years, Eunhye, drew the faces of 2,000 people living in Korea. The documentary shows how art can reconnect society and inspire the lives of those with an intellectual disability.
Director Dong-il Seo of Dumulmeori Pictures says, “PLEASE MAKE ME LOOK PRETTY follows the journey of an outsider who doesn't succumb to society's norms. She finds strength in her talent, breaking free of her mental prison and shatters how the world tries to define her based on physical appearances.”
